Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

All children residing in New South Wales who are under 18 and eligible for Medicare can access free public dental services. Regardless of their eligibility for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), all children receive top-quality care without fees, even if the CDBS is fully utilised. 

The CDBS is an Australian Government program that covers most basic general dental services, excluding specialist services like orthodontics or procedures under general anaesthesia. You don't need to register for the CDBS; Services Australia will notify you if you're eligible. 

To qualify for the CDBS, the child or young person must be 17 years or younger, and their family must receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.
